Tom Rudd is the co-founder of Cladachatom. After 25 years of supplying solutions to the mines, Tom has the vision and determination to believe that hydrogen peroxide will ensure the sustainable path to nitrate free explosives. Tom started his mining career in Anglo American Corporation in Zimbabwe thereafter he launched a 20 year career in explosives. He began distributing Nonel shock tube detonators assembled in Botswana, Tom is familiar with mining operations in Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa, Zambia and DRC. Currently Tom operates from Lubumbashi. He thrives on providing solutions at the rock face for a wide variety of mining clients, leading large or small teams and empowering local skills.
Learn moreHenry Rudd (Ch Dir). Chairman of Cladachatom based in London, Henry specializes as a non-executive director, consultant and fund raiser for businesses in Africa. He is no stranger to new technology start-ups for the mining industry having been a founder member and director of Pioneer Drilling Limited (1985-1990), the first drilling company in the world to core-drill to 6000 meters. Subsequently Henry enjoyed a 28 career with SABMiller/AB InBev as CFO and CEO of country operations in Africa; Now based in London Henry has a wide portfolio of NEDs with a special interest in Tanzania, Kenya and Zimbabwe
Learn moreClare Rudd is a co-founder of Cladachatom and has developed Employee Wellness Programs (EWPs) for mine employees in four countries in Africa. A clinical psychologist, Clare’s 30 year career has spanned the sub-continent of Africa in both public and private sectors. Clare began assisting victims of trauma in Zimbabwe, and has subsequently developed teams and programmes to build their inner resilience. As an early responder to mining accidents in Zambia and the Congo, Clare has developed and implemented health and safety programs for major mining clients. Clare continues to design and implement EWPs for several large corporate clients.
Learn moreSteve Brace is one of the world’s foremost blasting consultants. Qualifying with a BSc in Mining from Leeds University, and two subsequent honours degrees in Geography from UNISA, Steve has devoted a substantial amount of his 40 year career to serving on committees which include the Ethics Committee of the Society of Explosives Engineers; the Fragblast committee; the Royal Geographical Society; The South African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, the Federation of European Explosives Engineers. Steve is a qualified blaster and a key adviser to blasting certification in UK and codes of best practice and Explosives Regulations in South Africa. Steve spent his first 20 years post qualifying with AEL and Sasol in South Africa with a wide range of responsibilities before setting up his own consultancy in UK in 2002. Steve is helping to establish Cladachatom as a licensed distributor of Hypex Bio in UK and five countries in Africa.
